001. THE HUMAN BODY ADAPTS TO EXERCISE EITHER POSITIVELY OR NEGATIVELY, MAKING IT ESSENTIAL TO UNDERSTAND & THEN APPLY CORRECTLY.
Our bodies adapt to the stressors we place on them daily. Exercise is one of those stressors and has the capability to profoundly affect the body and its systems.
Without the intense & consistent stress of exercise, the body weakens, homeostasis falters, & degeneration begins. With too intense and/or too frequent exercise, the body begins to break down, results falter, and health may soon follow suit.
So it is safe to reason that exercise has the capability to flip the script in the pursuit of health, longevity, & a host of other positive adaptations.
For this reason, it is imperative we define what exercise actually is. Once we have that working definition, the path to positive results is illuminated and they can be realized without the risk of overtraining or undertraining.
002. AN EFFECTIVE TRAINING PROGRAM IS INTENTIONAL, STRUCTURED, APPROPRIATELY INTENSE & REPEATABLE FOR LIFE.
The body is stubborn and prefers to reside in homeostasis. If not challenged, it will remain in its current state or revert to its pre-training state.
Acknowledging this, exercise must be Intense, Intentional, Structured & Repeatable in order to force Adaptation.
Intense: Above all else, THIS IS THE KEY: The body is a “use it or lose it” entity. The effort required to force Adaptation is high, so exercise has to be executed with an appropriately high level of Intensity.
Intentional: Exercise has to be deliberately designed and executed.
Structured & Repeatable: The best approach is planned, comprehensive, and orthopedically sound so it’s repeatable for life.
003. RESULTS ARE ONLY OPTIMIZED IF PROPER NUTRITION & RECOVERY PRACTICES ARE EMPLOYED ON A CONSISTENT BASIS TO SUPPLEMENT TRAINING.
